A common argument used by pro-choicers to validate abortion is that the fetus (or any stage of fetal development) is just a clump of cells. I have yet to see anyone argue against this point with a real hard-hitting comeback, so here's mine.
The truth is that all living things are made up of cells. Trees, animals, humans.... Cells are the building blocks of life. When you get right down to it, everything is a clump or something, be it atoms or cells, but given shape by the organization of said atoms/cells.
When a sperm fertilizes an egg, they form a single cell called a zygote. This cell then divides into two cells, which then divide into four, and eight, and so on. This process of cell division continues through pregnancy, and, in fact, through the entire life span. Because of this, the average human adult has between 50 to 75 trillion cells.
50 to 75 trillion cells. That's quite a clump right there.
Lastly, I'd just like to say that, if the destruction of human life based on it being a "clump of cells" is justifiable, then, by that logic, the life of the woman you claim you want to give freedom of choice to, or save the life of, is just as expendable as the baby she carries.
Edit: Before you comment with "it's a person after birth", consider what so called ethicists are debating: [link]
They look like humans, not clumps of cells. Have you even seen a fetus before? Also, they can sleep, cry, kick, and even masturbate o_o
Besides, their life might not have started yet as we know it, but they are human beings. Precious human beings with a potential for a wonderful life ahead of them.
I'm glad I got to live outside my mom's cramped womb. The world is full of wonders, and strange things. Everyone deserves a chance to experience life themselves.
Admittedly I don't like abortion. And I don't like some of the reasons why some women have them. But at the end of the day, they're our bodies, not yours. We should be the ones to have ultimate control over them and what happens to them. At the end of the day, abortion is a nessessary evil.
Tell you what though. If you really don't like abortion, you should fund scientific research in making artificial uterus's [link]
I love how people flip out when you are against abortion. Doesn't matter what your excuse is, you killed a human being. And now people are all boo hoo over a girl who's pregnant and doesn't want to be. Yet most of the time, it was just because she wasn't taking care of herself or her body. So she messed up really bad, and everybody feels bad for them....
Don't so severely attack my intelligence with such an idiotic question.
"intelligence" ...Lol. If you can even call it that
You're just looking for an argument that you can't back up, and you're just wasting my time, so I'm done here.
