The Giant Spider Cards     I've been a fan of Magic: The Gathering ever since my friends in high school introduced it to me.  From my freshman year to the present, I've been collecting the cards, building decks and crushing opponents (and getting the occasional loss as well).  Little did I know that my own natural fears would be triggered in the form of an MTG card.

Seriously, anyone who seriously thinks that this ad does this should just wear a tin-foil hat and be disqualified from being taken seriously. Who knew that a playful tackle would result in so many people missing the whole "mother and son bond" that was displayed throughout the 30 second ad?

People hate that commercial not because it supposedly glorifies violence against women, but because people loathe the idea that his mother decided not to have an abortion. Also because Tim Tebow is a Christian. In the eyes of these crazies - i.e., liberals - if you're pro-life you are a terrible, horrible, awful, despicable person. If you're a Christian, you're also a terrible, horrible, awful, despicable person. But if you're a pro-life Christian, you are worse than Hitler, Stalin, Kim Jong-Il, Mao Zedong, and Muammar Gaddafi combined.

Either way, she was perfectly fine with it, and that is one of the sweetest commercials you'll ever see on television whether people like it or not.

It only raised controversy because people want the earth to be overpopulated, and wanted that commercial to "glorify" violence against women.

It only raised controversy, because a great deal of today's most vocal people are unimaginably stupid, ignorant, narrow-minded, insensitive, and rarely even think before they speak.

Well, screw 'em. There is no love like a mother's love! :heart:

I don't think that's really the issue... the biggest issue I had about it is how she glorifies the fact that she went against her doctor's orders. :shrug: Just doesn't seem to be the smart thing to be putting out there. If it was a story about a woman being pressured by a man in her life to have an abortion, and yet she didn't... she made her own CHOICE... then that would be great.

Well, she DID make her own choice. She CHOSE to have her child instead of doing what her doctor told her to.
