Edit: Red Squares And Equal Signs

Journal Entry: Wed Mar 27, 2013, 6:31 AM
www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/…

You know, thinking about it now, the idea of using an equal sign to advertise support for homosexual marriage is rather unintentionally admitting that the idea of said "marriage" is fundamentally incorrect, especially if you happen to be a supporter that happens to be Christian.

"For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother; and shall cleave to his wife. 8And they two shall be in one flesh. Therefore now they are not two, but one flesh" - Matthew 19:7,8

These verses have a double meaning.  The man and wife because one in almost everything except physically (that is to say, in flesh) unless they have a child, which would then contain the genetic information of the man and woman, thus making them both one flesh.  An equal sign is basically the ultimate visual analogy to the old law of magnetism that opposites attract and similar poles repel.  So too can to parallel lines never mix and become one flesh.  And hey, while we're on the subject of mathematical symbols representing marriage...

The plus sign actually gets action
The minus sign is forever alone
The multiplication sign is, well, getting it's freak on (it's a plus sign tipped over.  It's obviously into some freaky shit)
The division symbol.......I got nothing. o-o

Edit: Wow, after going onto facebook shortly after writing this, I find one of my friends has THIS for his avatar.  Well played. XD  sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos…  Guess I'm not the only one thinking this.

division sign is separating two parts of a whole. Divorce, perhaps?

What would the Internet be without people comparing people who disagree with them to the perpetrators of a tragedy that's more extreme than they'll ever be able to comprehend even remotely?

Also, I just realized something. People who support homosexual marriage are almost 100% of the time liberals, and considering the facts that a nazi is a member of the "National Socialist German Workers' Party" and socialism is a left-wing ideology, then... I'm a liberal for not agreeing with Liberals?! Paradox logic that only a left-winger can offer.

Oh, and what is your opinion on my response here? [link]

Yeah, the definition of "liberal" is changing...

And I think it's a really good response, especially about our nation's priorities.

I see the equal sign as two people who, regardless of their efforts and desires, will never be together.

I see the plus sign as two paths crossing.

I see the multiplication sign as the product of love spurred from said paths crossing.

I see the minus sign as the gap that separates the lovers.

And I see the division sign as two lovers separated by the arbitrary gap.

More than anything, I just wonder why the government has to stick its nose into marriage in the first place - gay or straight marriage. Marriage is a religious institution, after all; leave it up to individual churches/what-have-yous-for-other-faiths and we wouldn't have this issue in the first place.

That's pretty much the reason why we have this mess. After all, the idea of "gay marriage" is actually rather novel.

Uhh...is it wrong that I actually support gay marriage? *shrug*

And what makes it wrong? People deserve equal rights. Just because someone is homosexual does not make them any less human.

Homosexual's have the same rights as anyone else. That's a strawman and you know it. Just because they can't get married doesn't mean anyone is treating them like they're not human beings.
Obviously you must think that way since you're trying to project that on me when I didn't say any such thing. Try again.
